Greetings:
My name is Richard Celler and I am the department head of Morgan and Morgan's national Labor and Employment Department. Needless to say, the economy over the past 18 months has created absolute havoc, uncertainty, and despair for millions of workers around the country- many of whom have seen their jobs get eliminated, wages get cut, and had "tightening of the employers' belts" at the employees' expense. In light of these circumstances, the number of employers violating the fundamental wage and employment laws of this country have increased resulting in substantial and widespread concerns among workers entitled to an honest day's pay for an honest day's work. Our firm remains steadfast in our dedication to assisting employees with the enforcement of their rights and recovery of their unpaid wages. To that end, we have created a 30 person department at the firm dedicated solely to these objectives. Our lawyers currently are assisting thousands of aggrieved employees in single plaintiff and class action litigation around the country.
As of recent, we have noticed that the financial services, construction, restaurant, and health care industries have been the most notable industries that continue to violate the law. We currently have class actions pending against numerous employers in each of these industries.
As we develop this blog, the intent will be to inform the working people of this country as to their rights and remedies. I intend for this blog to be an interactive one where my team and I can answer your questions, provide you with current laws and obligations in your state, and provide copies of important articles and court orders to give you the insights and information you need to protect your rights financial well being, and more importantly, your family. So many lawyer websites out there are so focused on getting you in the door as clients first and foremost rather than educating you about your rights up front so you can make informed decisions about the legal process and whether it is in your best interests to proceed with a claim. Our law firm is committed to "breaking the mold." And, while it ultimately may be an honor and privilege to represent you in the event there is a workplace violation to which you are being subjected, it is our mission, our goal, not to put the carriage before the horse.
Expect weekly or more frequent postings from me with common client stories, common problems and violations in the workforce, and interactive questions and answer chats. Take a look around our site, and email me with any questions.
Be well and happy holidays to all.
