Nevada's minimum wage is $7.55 per hour without insurance and $6.55 per hour with insurance.
In general, employers must pay their workers 1.5 time their regular rate for hours worked in excess of 40 in a single workweek. In addition, employees who are paid a base rate of one and one half times the minimum wage or less per hour may be entitled to overtime if they work more than 8 hours in any workday. However, many overtime exemptions exist. To learn more about Nevada wage and hour law, visit the website of the Office of the Nevada Labor Commissioner.
Workers should receive a 10-minute rest period for each 3 1/2 hours worked. Employees who work 8 consecutive hours should receive an unpaid, uninterrupted 30-minute meal period.
Workers must be compensated at least semi-monthly.
When a worker is terminated or let go, wages become due immediately. The employer has three days to get pay the terminated employee their final wages. Employees who quit must receive their final wages no later than the day they would have received their paycheck if they had not been separated from the company or within 7 days, whichever occurs first.
