Final Wages

Final wages are due at the time of separation. If not paid upon separation, the employee should contact their former employer by certified mail return receipt requested, requesting wages that are due. The employer would have seven days to respond to the written request. If the worker does not receive a response within seven days, they can collect their last paycheck through a private lawsuit. The state of Missouri does not have the power to collect final wages for employees.
