Luciana De Oliveira and other financial analysts who worked for Citigroup at its operations center in Tampa/Brandon, Florida have sued Citigroup for failure to pay overtime compensation for overtime hours worked. Specifically, they allege that Citigroup misclassified them and all other financial analysts at the operations center as exempt from overtime and did not pay them overtime compensation. Additionally, the Department of Labor investigated the same pay practice and found it to be improper. If true, this is illegal under federal law and these employees should be paid for this time worked.
The law firm of Morgan & Morgan, P.A., has filed a collective action complaint against Citigroup for these employees and all other financial analysts at the operations center. The lawsuit seeks to recover all unpaid minimum wages owed to the class, liquidated damages, and attorneys' fees and costs. To read a copy of the collective action complaint, please click here.
